Applying Colour Corrector the Right Way!

If you’ve got stubborn dark circles, you’ve probably tried a colour corrector at some point, but chances are, you might not be getting the most out of it. I swear by the Huda Beauty Orange Colour Corrector, and over time I’ve found a simple, foolproof technique that makes a huge difference.

Here’s exactly how I do it:

Step 1: Less is More

The first mistake I see people making? Applying wayyy too much corrector. You only need three small dots following the natural hollows of your eyes. Trust me, overdoing it will make blending harder and your base heavier.

Step 2: Blend It Out

Use a dense blending brush or your fingers to gently blend out the corrector. The goal is to diffuse the pigment so it cancels out the darkness without creating a thick, heavy layer.

Step 3: The Game Changing Wait

This step is where most people go wrong. and it’s a total game changer!

Instead of going straight in with concealer, wait a few minutes and let the corrector dry down properly. This ensures the layers of your makeup don’t mix together and turn into an odd colour. It also ensures your corrector does it’s job of hiding your dark circles properly!

Step 4: Conceal

Once the corrector is set, I apply a skin coloured concealer - my go to is the Huda Beauty Concealer in the shade Toasted Almond. Blend it seamlessly into the surrounding skin for an even, natural look. I use a damp beauty sponge for this step.

Step 5: Set for Success

The final and most important step, set it well with a loose powder so it doesn’t crease. I personally love the Huda Beauty Easy Bake Loose Powder for this. One light layer is all you need for a smooth, long lasting finish.

Why This Works:

The wait time between corrector and concealer is what truly transforms the result. It keeps the coverage locked in and prevents your makeup from becoming patchy or muddy. Plus, using the right amount of product ensures your under-eye area stays bright without looking cakey.
